The Prime Minister affirmed the government's commitment to supporting the company's investments and paying the dues of foreign partners in the petroleum sector.

 

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly met this evening at the government headquarters in New Alamein City with Cedric Cremers, President of Shell's Integrated Gas Operations, to review a number of the company's activities in the Egyptian market. The meeting was attended by Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Dalia El-Gabry, Chairperson of Shell Egypt.

 

The Prime Minister began the meeting by noting that he regularly follows up with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources on the status of Shell's investments in the Egyptian market, noting the importance of the company's investments in Egypt, which greatly benefit the energy sector.

 

Madbouly affirmed the Egyptian government's interest in following up on the payment of dues to foreign partners as part of its strategy to increase production and exploration rates in various concession areas owned by foreign companies operating in the petroleum and natural gas sector.

 

During the meeting, the Shell CEO expressed his aspiration to continue cooperation with the Egyptian government and to monitor the company's investments in the Egyptian market.

 

Cremers explained that the Egyptian market ranks fifth in exploration for Shell International, which reflects the importance of the company's activity in Egypt.

 

He also explained the efforts made by Shell Integrated Gas, in cooperation with the Egyptian government, in the field of natural gas at the regional level, in addition to the current coordination with Egypt in the field of exploration, as well as meeting the Egyptian state's natural gas needs.

 

The Shell CEO emphasized the importance of the company's investments in Egypt, and his aspiration to cooperate with some Gulf countries to invest in Egypt, as well as support the Egyptian government's plans to provide natural gas.

 

During the meeting, the Minister of Petroleum noted the support the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources received from Shell to secure natural gas through increased production, a development the ministry appreciates.

 

Badawi also expressed his appreciation for the existing cooperation with the company in providing natural gas shipments, and expressed his aspiration to increase the company's investments in Egypt, as well as to enhance new cooperation in the field of implementing modern technologies that take into account environmental and civil protection standards in the field of work.

 

Meanwhile, Dalia El-Gabry discussed the company's collaborative efforts and programs in Egypt to support the local community, as well as its implementation of modern procedures and technologies that take into account environmental and civil protection standards.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his aspiration to increase the company's investments in Egypt, particularly in light of the promising opportunities and results in exploration, taking into account the government's commitment to supporting the company's investments and paying the dues of foreign partners in the petroleum sector.
