Urgent .. A slight increase in annual inflation in Egyptian cities in October 2024 to record 26.5%

 

  • The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics revealed that annual inflation in Egyptian cities rose slightly in October 2024 to record 26.5%, compared to 26.4% during the previous September.

 

  • The agency said in a statement today, Sunday, that the annual inflation rate for the entire republic amounted to 26.3% in October 2024, compared to 26% in September and 38.5% in October 2023.

 

  • In contrast, the prices of the meat and poultry group increased by 3.3%, the fish and seafood group by 2.1%, the dairy, cheese and eggs group by 2%, the coffee, tea and cocoa group by 1.2%, the mineral and carbonated water and natural juices group by 1.1%, the grains and bread group by 0.8%, and the oils and fats group by 0.3%.

 

  • The prices of the electricity, gas and fuel group increased by 7.2%, the housing maintenance and repair group by 1.5%, the actual rent of housing group by 0.7%, the fabric group by 1.4%, the cleaning, repair and rental of clothing group by 1.3%, the shoes group by 0.7%, the home furnishings group by 1.6%, and the goods and services used in home maintenance group by 1.0%.

 

  • The prices of the outpatient services group also increased by 2.4%, the hospital services group by 1.7%, the private transport spending group by 0.3%, the transport services group by 0.5%, the postal services group by 3.7%, and the ready meals group by 2.1%.
