
Rasha Abdel Aal, head of the Egyptian Tax Authority, confirmed that, in line with the directives of Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk aimed at facilitating matters for taxpayers, providing integrated technical support, and promoting voluntary compliance, the Egyptian Tax Authority began receiving tax returns for the year 2025 starting from the first of January.
She explained that declarations will be received from January 1, 2026 until March 31, 2026 for individuals, and for companies, the submission of declarations will continue until April 30, 2026 or within 4 months of the end of the company’s fiscal year, electronically through the official platforms of the department.
Abdel-Aal pointed out that taxpayers affiliated with the First Large Taxpayers Center, the Second Large Taxpayers Center, the Large Free Professions Center in Cairo, the Large and Medium Lower Egypt Center in Alexandria, the Large and Medium Upper Egypt Center in Hurghada, the First Medium Taxpayers Center, the Second Medium Taxpayers Center, and taxpayers of the merged areas affiliated with the Cairo First, Cairo Second, Cairo Third, Cairo Fourth, and Qalyubia Tax Zone, submit their returns through the new main tax business system via the website, while the rest of the taxpayers continue to submit their returns through the electronic portal for tax services.
She emphasized that the Egyptian Tax Authority provides all facilities and technical support to taxpayers to facilitate the submission of their tax returns, through a comprehensive plan that includes organizing daily free seminars to educate taxpayers and accountants on how to submit returns electronically, with the provision of professional lecturers to explain the procedures, assist taxpayers, answer inquiries, and solve any problems they may face.
Abdel-Aal added that the department provides technical support to taxpayers through committees present in various professional syndicates, civil society organizations, chambers of commerce, and federations, to facilitate the process of submitting tax returns, in addition to allocating technical support teams in all tax offices nationwide.
The head of the Egyptian Tax Authority called on taxpayers to adhere to the deadlines for submitting tax returns, stressing that the Authority seeks to provide an easy tax experience that supports transparency and voluntary compliance and enhances trust between taxpayers and the Egyptian Tax Authority, noting that all inquiries and questions are answered through the hotline 16395.
