8 meetings of the Central Bank of Egypt in 2025 to determine the future of the pound interest.

The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Egypt has scheduled 8 meetings to discuss interest rates during 2025.

 

The Committee will hold its first meeting of 2025 on February 20, its second meeting on April 17, its second meeting on May 22, and its fourth meeting on July 10.

 

The Committee will hold its fifth meeting on August 28, 2025, then its sixth meeting on October 2, its seventh on November 20, and finally on December 25.

 

The Central Bank of Egypt announced, in its last meeting for the year 2024, last Thursday, that the overnight deposit and lending rates and the Central Bank’s main operation rate would remain stable at 27.25%, 28.25% and 27.75% respectively, and that the credit and discount rate would remain at 27.75%. This decision reflects the latest developments and expectations at the global and local levels since the previous meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee.
