President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Hassan Abdullah, Governor of the Central Bank, Ahmed El-Shazly, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority, and Ahmed El-Azzazi, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.
Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesman for the presidency, said that the meeting discussed the efforts made by the Central Bank to prepare the digital infrastructure and legislative and regulatory frameworks required for the financial sector in the country, which contributes to achieving a breakthrough in the fields of financial technology and digital payments, in line with the Egyptian state’s strategy for digital transformation.
He pointed out that the meeting discussed, in this context, the state's efforts to enhance financial inclusion, as the President stressed during the meeting the need to develop the state's mechanisms and tools concerned with financial inclusion, in a way that ensures the integration of all economic sectors into the development system in a digital manner, and their inclusion in the services provided by the state within the framework of the economic reform program.
During the meeting, the President directed the need to keep pace with the rapid technological developments in digital banking services, and to provide advanced and secure electronic payment services to customers that keep pace with the best international standards, which leads to enhancing sustainable development, digital transformation, and improving economic indicators.
