The New Rural Development Company, responsible for managing and implementing the national project to reclaim and cultivate 1.5 million feddans, announced the launch of a new initiative titled "Your Farm in Egypt," in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs.
The company said in a statement on Tuesday that the initiative aims to provide investment opportunities for Egyptians abroad to participate in this giant and promising agricultural project. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the company, represented by Amr Abdel Wahab, Chairman and Managing Director, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by Nabil Habashi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs.
This strategic cooperation aims to facilitate the participation of Egyptians residing abroad in agricultural and development investment in Egypt, thus contributing to strengthening the national economy and achieving the targeted food security.
Abdel Wahab said that the “Your Farm in Egypt” initiative comes in line with the state’s strategy to involve all segments of society in development work and major national projects. It represents a new step towards strengthening relations between major national projects and Egyptians living abroad, as it offers them a distinct and promising opportunity to invest in the national project for the reclamation, cultivation and development of one and a half million acres, which is one of the largest agricultural and development projects in Egypt and the region. It aims to achieve food security, increase local production, and contribute to supporting and raising the level of the agricultural economy.
He added that the "Your Farm in Egypt" initiative aims to enable Egyptians living abroad to acquire agricultural land within the 1.5 million feddan project, which provides diverse investment opportunities in the agricultural and development sectors, helping to increase local production and develop the new Egyptian countryside.
The New Rural Egypt Company Chairman continued, "Egyptians abroad now have a greater capacity to contribute to their country's projects, and we at the New Rural Egypt Company are working to provide them with all the means and facilities to facilitate the investment process, starting with the provision of agricultural land and extending to providing the necessary technical and logistical support at all stages of the project."
It's worth noting that the New Rural Development Company is currently preparing a number of other initiatives, which will soon be announced and offered to Egyptians living abroad, to engage them in more project and investment opportunities in the 1.5 million feddan project, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all relevant state agencies.
